MEXICO: JULY 2009

McKenna and I were so lucky to be able to go to Mexico on vacation this summer! No, this first picture is not a picture of Mexican hospitality. McKenna was having cheesecake at 2 a.m. at our favorite resort, The Westin Stonebriar in Frisco TX, where we met up with the rest of our party. We, along with Sharee, Roy, and Micah, and the Hailes' friends, the Blacks, boarded the plane the next day to an all-inclusive resort in the area known as the Mexican Riviera near Playa del Carmen. The place was so well maintained and tropically beautiful. The food was not bad. It was interesting when they would try to make something that is typically American. But breakfast was my favorite! There was a girl who was making omelets to order. She was so friendly and her omelets were perfection. I hoped we tipped her well as that omelet was the best meal of all everyday. It's difficult to describe how beautiful this place is. We are so used to everything being so dry and desert that the trees, shrubs, and flowers everywhere made it feel like we were in the paradise. There were a multitude of pools and fountains and water features everywhere. The sea was truly breathtaking. We got to swim with dolphins, the kids went zip-lining, repelling, and snorkeling in a cave, and we all went snorkeling at the beach which was amazing. McKenna almost stepped on a stingray and we had a barracuda swim right by us. It was a vacation to remember! We got a lot of really good pictures of everything that I will include here.
