Haile Week

And the season just kept on giving----we got to have my sister, Sharee, and her boys, Cody and Micah, and Micah's girlfirend, Holly, with us for the week after Christmas. We picked them up at the airport on Monday evening. I wish I had pictures of us all standing next the the men in black suits with OUR signs, waiting to greet our passengers as they came down the escalator to the baggage claim area. One of Sharee's boys said, "Hey, where are our signs?" And then they saw us standing there holding big, brightly colored signs proclaiming, "Welcome to Haile Week!", "Haile Yeah!", and "Hailelujah!" Do you think we were a little excited to see them or what??

After picking them up, we met up with Dag and his family at California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. What a moment, to have us all together, laughing and having fun. The only ones missing are Mom and Roy.
Okay, well, here we were just stuffin' our faces.

Next stop, our house in La Verkin and tomorrow-----Brian Head and snowboarding!!
I'm mad that I didn't get any pictures of the kids 'boarding and skiing but the ones I got are hilarious!

Here they are, gearing up.

Kimber and Aunt Sharee checking out Brian Head together.

Next is Austin, Cody, and Sharee getting ready to demonstrate their 'boarding skills.
Notice how Sharee has to have a spotter? LOL!
In the picture above, there is sheer terror and sheer joy.
Cody is afraid she's gonna fall and break something.
(Love the cowboy boots tucked into his ski pants!)
And Sharee is loving the exhilaration of the snowboarding experience.
I think they both almost peed their pants.

And.....down she goes.
Do you see a resemblance??
What a great time we had! I'm glad I was just the photographer on that day.

So they tried another approach.....

At least they didn't break anything this way.
Austin survived his first snowboarding trip.

Somebody else enjoyed the snow as well, Miss Kimber.

Here we are playing American Idol on the Wii. Surprisingly, Sharee does not excel at this game. LOL! But we had a lot of fun trying. She and I did a duet. It was awful, but so much fun! Thanks, Adam, for providing us with the Wii! I wish I had one of those.
We were all cracking up that McKenna knew all the lyrics to Fergie's The Glamorous...."If you ain't got no money, take your broke ass home." Yes, she even knew the rap parts. And you thought she was only country.

Micah was trying to play the gee-tar but the game wasn't synced and he kept getting shut down. Dang, I wanted to see him really jam.

There was a trip to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store. Yum!
Some three pretty girls. I think Kimber wants CHOCOLATE!
Awwww, giving the bear a snuggle.

These four spent way too many hours riding in the car----to Brian Head, to Eagle's Point, to Vegas and back three or four times. Sheesh, they will probably want to walk everywhere they go for awhile.

We, however, took Kyle's riceburner car for a spin just for fun. It was an interesting shopping trip. Met up with the others for lunch in town later.

In the middle of all the chaos, while Sharee was in Vegas, Ray and I took a drive up the Kolob road out of Virgin to clear our heads and de-stress. It was a beautiful drive. Thanks, Rayzin! I needed that.

I must be getting red sand in my shoes because those red cliffs always signal that I'm getting closer to home. I love them almost as much as I love Texas.
The two loves of Ray Mackelprang's life in the same picture.
Well, we almost look like we're in the same picture together.

Later that day we drove to Vegas (again) for some final entertainment before the Hailes (plus Holly) had to head home.
Fun at the Red Rock bowling lanes!
Sharee and the boogie dance! Great combination!

Having some pre-game refreshments, fueling up for the competition!
 Cody Haile, ready to rumble!
Amber and Austin. Don't let looks deceive you, she can bowl!
 Austin with Aunt Sharee
 Electronics lover, Kimber and Wanny
Holly and Micah (I think this was at CPK, but oh well, they are still cute)

 Brin, Kimber, and Cody.
 Micah and Dag bowling
Amber's smiling, she musta done good
Brinlee wrangling baby bowler wannabe, Kimber.

Okay, now he's getting serious. Micah rolling up his sleeves. I think Holly was kicking butt at bowling.

Kimber and I watching the action.
 A Micah face.
 Dag and Sharee
 Holly and Sharee
 Austin, Amber, and Tahnni
And the whole gang. Ain't we cute? Missing McKenna and Adam :(
That's all folks!
Now we can't wait for them to come back and do it all again. (Well, most of it anyway)
